| Valley Cares is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit incorporated with the state of Vermont. Board members by charter are three trustees from the OHCC board, the OHCC CEO, a member nominated by the Townshend Select board, a resident of West River Senior Housing, and five community members. Officers include President John Nopper, Putney; Vice President Effie Chamberlin, Townshend; Treasurer Neil Pelsue, Newfane; and Secretary Edith Serke, Windham. Day-to-day business of Valley Cares is overseen by two co-directors: Catherine Amarante, Care Director, and Bob Crego, Operations Director. The organization has its offices at 457 Grafton Road in Townshend. Board meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of each month. Valley Cares is a general partner in two limited partnerships which own West River Valley Senior Housing. West River Valley Housing Limited Partnership, which owns the independent housing has as its investor Key Community Development Corporation. Valley Cares is co-general partner with Housing Vermont in West River Valley Assisted Limited Partnership. Investors in the latter are Green Mountain Housing Equity Fund and Chittenden Bank. | ||||||
